About the Client

Nilsen Eye Care is a privately owned optometry practice dedicated to providing excellence in vision care. Proudly serving patients in Powhatan and Chesterfield across 2 locations, Nilsen Eye Care and Nilsen Eye Care West, the NEC team approached FreshMove Media in 2023 with goals of a refined, expanded website. Their current site had become outdated and static, the team had goals of increasing transparency into their streamlined no-wait intake appointments and passion for Virginian eye health.

Over the last 5 months, the FreshMove team and Nilsen Eye Care collaborated to align visions of the companies current branding, website information hierarchy, and practice imagery. FreshMove is excited to continue the relationship in the coming months with film production and Google ads.

Information Hierarchy:

When comparing the previous site design to the goals of NEC’s team, the initial step was to create a wireframe to rearrange and correctly show off Nilsen’s capabilities and services in the best possible format for desktop and mobile view. The importance of patient reviews, appointment scheduling CTAs, and service areas were focused heavily in the design of the wireframe.

Development:

The NEC site was developed and designed to incorporate branding colors in not only typography and background elements, but in an overall mood that fit their unique brand. Photos are edited in a cool but inviting tone, and icons are tailored to their unique clinical processes. Differentiating locations while maintaining cohesive branding is accomplished by listing hours, schedules, and information about the locations in the footer, header, sidebar, and respective practice pages. This approach allows patients to understand NEC’s processes, locate the nearest facility, and easily schedule an appointment.
